Every hero has the power to make a difference – and that power can often begin with a single choice.
The official 2026 Red Ribbon Week theme, “Make a Difference. Be a Hero. Stay Drug Free.” Encourages young people to recognize that choosing a healthy, drug- free lifestyle is act of courage, leadership, and positive influence. The theme reminds students that heroes are not limited to fictional characters, celebrities or athletes. They can be classmates, friends, family members, teachers, and community leaders who make responsible choices and encourage others to do the same.
Observed annually from October 23-30, Red Ribbon Week is an opportunity for schools, families, and communities to unite around prevention. The strongest campaigns help students understand how their everyday decisions can protect their health, support their peers, and positively shape the community around them.
We are excited to celebrate Red Ribbon Week at Lee F Jackson. Every hero has the power to make a difference, and that power can begin with a single choice. Throughout the week, students will participate in a special assembly and age-appropriate activities focused on healthy choices, kindness, safety, and positive decision-making.
At Lee F. Jackson, the message will be simple: heroes are all around us, and making good choices is one way they can be a hero too.
